I believe that everything is connected. Plants, humans, the natural environment, technology etc., are all united; all is one and coexisting. I have found this to be re-enforced through my art. Parcels of my life have materialized in the images that I create. Many of my works reflect the forms and colours found in West Coast "First Nations" art of Canada. It is therefore possible that ties to the aboriginal culture of BC and Vancouver Island, through both my past childhood and intimate relationships, could have an external effect on my work. This, I believe, has surfaced in my art and many individuals who view my work also fortify this cultural connection.

A self-taught graphic and web designer, my passion for this field of work is greatly influenced by an immense curiosity of visual communication as well as the rich vibrant colours of fine art giclee prints. I produce fine art prints using technically advanced, large format printers. I am also drawn to the colours, shapes and assymetry of abstract art very alluring and sensual.

The "Connectiles" concept was inspired by my quest to provide small, contemporary art pieces that could be collected and displayed in a variety of ways. The concept of printing on tiles was realized as I searched for an alternative decorative way to present my art. Small tiles within a deep frame can be exhibited on their own, in small or large patterns on a wall, vertically, horizontally or diagonally, to free standing on a table or shelf.

The effortless materialization of attaining my goal, of presenting my art to the world in this fashion, has deepened my faith in the creative thought process. You are what you think, thought is creative. In my trial and error through many years of manipulating images, I reached a point where my found or created images were a pliable substance at my mind and body's disposal. My artistic direction, which is at times both conscious and voluntary or unconscious and involuntary, is not directly under my control. I am fascinated by this unkown element, dimension or energy that is constant and influencing.

I am truly blessed that my art affords me the incrdible freedom to present a message of peace, faith and understanding to those that I connect with. I believe that nothing is coincidental, events happen by the choices that we as humans all make, and the results we experience are the sum of our personal and collective outcome.
